The four agreeable winter romances presented in Stranded With a Hero are each connected to the respective author’s ongoing series. Each entry has great emotional depth for such a short story, leaving readers feeling that they know the characters well.

Divorcée Mindy McKenzie Fenton expects a blue Christmas since her boys are spending Christmas with their father — until her longtime friend Josh Powers is stranded on her doorstep in Erickson’s “Loving Mindy.” New Yorker Aaron Cade avoids the holidays and the snow in Kwan’s “White-Hot Holiday” with a Christmas vacation to Australia. But sparks fly when scrooge Aaron meets Naomi, who’s in the Christmas spirit. When her car takes a detour in a snow storm, Kelsey Cooper is rescued by cop Nate Walsh, her ex-boyfriend’s older brother. In Madsen’s “An Officer and a Rebel,” she discovers the serious teen has grown into a seriously hot cop. In Snopek’s “Saving the Sheriff,” Deputy Sheriff Red LeClair is tending to Three River Ranch while the owners are away. Add Frankie Sylva, the reindeer she rescued and a blizzard, and Red has a very interesting Christmas in store. (ENTANGLEDPUBLISHING.COM, dl $2.99)
