The Stranger You Know is a captivating police procedural heavy on characterization that will keep readers up late into the night. Maeve is a character to love; she’s easy to relate to as she holds her own with humor and snappy dialogue. The voice of the novel is unique and captivating. Casey’s talent for constructing several different storylines and bringing them all together in the end is what makes this a great read.
Two women have been left strangled in their homes with no sign of a break-in. Maeve Kerrigan knows little about the killer she’s after until a third murder is committed and all clues lead to DCI Josh Derwent, Maeve’s boss and colleague. Although these deaths are remarkably similar to a previous case in which Josh was a suspect, Maeve refuses to accept that he’s involved.
