A STRANGER'S BABY (3) by Kerry Connor: Connor stretches believability in this story about the attempted kidnapping of a pregnant woman and the man who comes to her rescue. A one-night stand with a man whose name she doesn't know leaves Sara Carson pregnant and the possible target of a baby-selling operation, which may have resulted in the disappearance of several teenage girls -- and possibly the murder of her baby's father. Recuperating football player Jake Armstrong plunges into Sara's life when he hears shots coming from her house. Too many attempts on people's lives, too many suspects and a too-neat ending hurt what could have been a good mystery.
