This is another fun, fast-moving story about vampire Lil and her matchmaking business. Raye's gifted writing makes the heroine's overbearing relatives wonderfully entertaining. It's too bad Lil's main squeeze makes such a limited appearance, but there are a number of other hunks to keep the imagination sizzling.

At a Dead End Dating meet-and-greet, one of Born vampire Lilliana Marchette's vampire clients disappears. Lil discovers that Esther is going to be used as a sacrifice by Mordred Lucius,
a powerful warlock, to gain youth
and immortality.

Warned not to interfere, Lil sets out
to do just that. She's soon joined by
her best friend, who's nursing a broken heart, her mother and her mortal future sister-in-law. Now all she has to do is shake her unwanted guests, avoid the warlock and rescue Esther. No problem! (BALLANTINE, Jul., 336 pp., $7.99)
