The characters are believable and the leads intriguing. Suffering from amnesia and guided only by a photo and business card, Michael Reardon collapses on the steps of Eden Hawke's detective agency. Eden sees he carries a photo of her missing son and then finds out he thinks she's his wife! Michael is plagued by fears, and Eden is caught between a growing desire to help him and her need to make him reveal his connection to her son. Jean Barrett delivers an interesting hero and elevates the increasingly overused amnesia premise with a twist, but SUDDEN RECALL (3) loses points for characters whose actions sometimes appear illogical.
