Her impulsive marriage to banker Alex Mackenzie is on the rocks, Lisa Morelli can't deal with her unbearable family of in-laws, so she goes home to Philadelphia. She doesn't expect Alex to follow her, or even stick around while she's finding her niche there, but it's his sudden willingness to stand up to both sets of controlling parents that really surprises her. Is their relationship salvageable—or is her possible pregnancy what's keeping Alex in town? Flashes of Millie Criswell's hallmark wit and a colorful cast of supporting characters make Suddenly Single (3) a pleasurable read, even though it's occasionally difficult to understand why Lisa and Alex want their marriage to continue.
