Charming and funny, the latest installment of the Blossom Street series has many touching moments too. Here's to the adventures of Lydia and her friends continuing for a long, long time.

It's summer on Blossom Street, and Lydia Goetz, the owner of A Good Yarn, is offering a class called Knit to Quit. As usual, the class attracts a wide cross-section of people. Physiotherapist Phoebe Rylander recently broke her engagement to a philandering lawyer, and even her mother is on his side. Bryan "Hutch" Hutchinson finds that running his family's chocolate business very stressful and is under doctor's orders to get his blood pressure under control. Baker Alix Turner and her husband, Jordan, want to start a family -- but first, Alix has to give up smoking. Is knitting the solution for all of them? Only time will tell, but Lydia's classes almost always yield good results! (MIRA, May, 368 pp., $24.95)
