Pamfiloff deftly brings us into her supernatural world, where Mayan gods fraternize with humans, and conflicts abound among the gods themselves. Put one unsuspecting sassy woman in the midst of it, and readers will be instantly hooked. With steady plotting, a clever, inventive storyline wrapped in a contemporary feel and the sizzling passion between Nick and Penelope, Pamfiloff gives readers another delightfully amusing tale that doesn’t disappoint.

Waitress Penelope Trudeau gets a proposition from a flame-haired eccentric goddess, Cimil: Penelope will receive one million dollars if she agrees to be a surrogate for Cimil’s brother, Nick, the immortal Sun God. Penelope adamantly refuses. Her womb is not for sale. But then she meets the devastatingly handsome Nick. Nick doesn’t find consorting with humans appealing — until he gets involved with Penelope. Discovering Cimil’s role in their relationship doesn’t exactly make him happy, yet he can’t let go of Penelope ... especially now that her life is in danger. (FOREVER, Mar., 432 pp., $6.00)
