Book Review

Genre: Erotic Romance, Contemporary Erotic Romance

RT Rating

Originally released as an e-serial, this book follows those that have gone before too closely. From the apparent lingerie fetish to the big secret to BDSM scenes that feel written for titillation rather than authenticity, this feels like a pastiche of bestselling erotica books from the past few years. Moreover, the characters never seem to be fully realized as they shift between personas that rely more on the plot points than solid characterization. For those looking for something original or new to the genre, pass this one by.

After Devon Reid walks in on her boyfriend with another woman, she flees to regroup. In a small tourist town, she’s inexplicably drawn to a stranger, who entices her to move to San Francisco to take a job. Devon soon discovers the stranger is billionaire CEO Zach St. Brenton. And he wants her, but only on his terms, which involve things she’d never dreamed of — but not his heart. (SIGNET ECLIPSE, Apr., 336 pp., $15.00)
