The Last Chance Rescue novels started out with an unqualified bang. Reece creates heroes and heroines who are willing to risk it all for love and honor. And while the characters in Sweet Revenge are both compelling, Jamie Kendrick’s need for revenge doesn’t sit well. Dylan Savage makes up for it though. That’s one hot hero!
Jamie Kendrick was abducted, beaten and sold before the Last Chance Rescue team saved her from what surely would have been a lifetime of torture. Now, she’s determined to make her abductor pay. Dylan Savage, the man who saved her, is the only one who can train her to become an LCR agent but the sparks between them may be her undoing. Dylan never falls for a rescue, but he’s falling hard for Jamie. He’s assigned to pretend to train her while they move in to capture her abductor. But in order to do that, they need to know what Jamie knows. Little by little Dylan earns her trust and with it the answers he’s looking for – the answers that will put a human trading operation out of commission. Earning her trust, though, may mean breaking her heart — and it’s a heart he’s starting to care about, but that might be just what saves her life. (BALLANTINE, Oct., 416 pp., $7.99)
