Ann Christopher's Sweeter Than Revenge (4) aptly portrays what happens when a poor college student falls in love with his boss's daughter and then is distraught when she marries someone wealthy. Christopher shows wonderfully how childhood hurts, lack of trust and low self-esteem can cross socioeconomic levels. David Hunt returns to take over his former boss's company and intends to make his daughter fall for him again and then dump her. Now divorced, Maria Johnson is poor in spirit and thinks she's only good at being beautiful. When she must work for David, the sparks fly, and in the process they not only discover the true meaning of wealth, they also discover that had they had a conversation years before, their lives would have turned out differently.
