This book is a sweet small-town romance with nary a demented killer, secret government agent or paranormal element in sight. It is also not overloaded with sex scenes, which adds to the realism and allows for more character development.

Little Twilight, Texas, has a reputation as a place where high school sweethearts are united. It's also the home of the Sweethearts Knitting Club, whose members, except for Flynn MacGregor, are all married to their high school sweethearts.

Flynn is engaged to the boy she's been seeing off and on since high school. He's now the sheriff, and her mother and everybody else always thought they were a perfect match. What they don't know is that the love of Flynn's heart was her real high school sweetheart, bad boy Jesse, sent to prison 10 years ago. Now Jesse is back in town, determined to stay. Just who will be Flynn's match? Just what will the sheriff do to keep her? (AVON, Dec., 400 pp., $6.99)
