This third installment of Sala’s Storm Front trilogy is a compelling story centered around two intriguing characters in a dangerous situation. The suspense-driven story hooks you in and doesn’t let go until long after you’ve completed the book.

Amalie Pope is in a precarious position. Her home has been invaded by four dangerous men and she is their hostage. Nick Arroyo, one of the hostage-takers, is actually an undercover DEA agent posing as a member of a criminal gang. From the moment Nick sees Amalie, he recognizes the fear in her eyes and wants to protect her, but he can’t blow his cover or it will put them both in danger. Amalie feels that Nick’s different from the other three men, but she isn’t sure she can really trust him. As their feelings for each other grow, Nick fights to get them both out of this situation alive. (MIRA, Aug., 329 pp., $7.99)
