A glimpse into the dangerous world of border patrol makes for an interesting and worthwhile read. While the moderately paced story isn't suspenseful and the romance lacks chemistry, readers will keep turning pages to figure out who's behind the crimes.

Border patrol agent Danika Morales believes her husband's death two years ago wasn't a random act. After a string of attacks and threats, it appears she may be next.

Dr. Alex Price has feelings for her but wonders if they can get past their differing views on immigration. When Danika's life is in jeopardy, he relies on the trust he's built in the immigrant community to find the attacker. Will it be enough to save her? (TYNDALE, Mar., 336 pp., $12.99)
