This novella starts out well, telling the story of a woman who’s made choices about her love life that were probably based more on her goals than her heart. When childhood crush Colton shows up, the chemistry is immediate. Unfortunately, at novella length the happily ever after has to appear quickly — far too quickly to give the relationship time to feel realistic. A longer treatment might have made this one a sure bet.

Jenny Wright has returned home to the town she couldn’t wait to escape to marry the man of her dreams. But when he leaves her at the altar, she’s left with no job, debt from the wedding that never happened and no plans for the future. When she runs into her old crush, bull-riding champion Colton Thorpe, sparks fly, but Colton has already been burned by marriage once, and Jenny needs to find out what she really wants out of life.
