This exciting sequel to Take Me If You Can continues, as an intricate secondary thread, the story of the previous book's main characters. Unfortunately, the hero of this book is unlikable and not very smart.

The theft of a gold Venetian mask gets art-recovery agent Gwen Davies her first repo assignment for ARTemis Inc. Her client, Quinn Lawson, is told to get the mask back or lose his job. Unfortunately, the mask she recovers is a fake.

Gwen walked out on Quinn 15 years ago, leaving him only a note. Now they must work together to discover what happened. Perhaps they can also discover what happened to their love. (SIGNET ECLIPSE, Apr., 336 pp., $6.99)
