What an awesome start to the Cabin Fever series! Ridgway’s latest is heartwarming, extremely romantic and one of those books that will make you feel tingly all over. The alpha hero is smoking hot and he lingers on one’s mind longer than expected. Readers may be surprised at how close in similarity the characters are to themselves or their friends. Take My Breath Away is an all-around great read that will have you wishing you were curled up by the fire in a mountainside cabin.

Former teen idol Ryan Hamilton is going through a rough patch and wants some time away from his hectic life. He rents a cabin nestled in the mountains of California, but his private time may be cut short by a sexy stranger. Single mother Poppy Walker has promised to restore the family resort, but with too many renovations on her list and several bills to pay, she feels she’s getting nowhere fast. Then Ryan offers to pay cash for one of the rentals and Poppy can’t refuse. Their attraction for each other is undeniable, but they both get on each other’s nerves. They soon discover that they’ve both had their hearts broken before. Who will be first to take a step forward and leave the past behind? (HQN, Jun., 384 pp., $7.99)
