Book Review

TAKE TWO
by Karen Kingsbury

Genre: Inspirational, Mainstream

RT Rating

Kingsbury's second offering in the Above the Line series allows a deeper look into the characters' lives. The portions involving Kelly are particularly meaningful, and the characters' faith struggles really speak to readers' hearts. But this installment leaves many loose ends hanging, which could be quite frustrating, considering the length of time between books.

Chase Ryan and Keith Ellison are excited that their previously filmed movie might finally be accepted for theatrical release. They push forward with their second film, knowing this is what God wants them to do. Unfortunately, Chase's wife Kelly doesn't see things the same way. Bailey Flanigan, meanwhile, is dealing with her growing relationship with Tim and her continued feelings for Cody, and her roommate Andi is having serious doubts about her faith. Will they turn to God or away from Him? (ZONDERVAN, Jul., 352 pp., $14.99)
