This innovative story has an intriguing romance and some hot sex. Though it takes place on Earth, there is an unfortunate lack of visual description. With no real history given about the aliens and what Earth is now like, a promising story that is still entertaining is also disappointingly superficial.

When Leah Parisi's cat discovers a strange man hiding outside her house, it doesn't take Leah long to realize that he's one of the Dar. Actually, Gabreel Halbrut is only half-Dar, born of one of the Earth women taken years before when the Dar attempted to invade the planet. Against her will, Leah is as strongly attracted to Gabreel as he is to her. When he's forced by his compatriots to make a prisoner of Leah, they end up on the run, trying to find out the truth behind the fact that Leah's hometown and its occupants have apparently been given to the half-breed Dar by the government. (SAMHAINPUBLISHING.COM, dl $4.50)
