TALES OF A DRAMA QUEEN
by Lee Nichols

Genre: Mainstream, Chick lit

RT Rating

After her fiancé suddenly marries
an Iowan, Elle Medina moves to Santa Barbara near her friend Maya and Maya's boyfriend, Brad (aka "Perfect Brad" or P.B.). Elle needs a place of her own,
which means she needs money and a job.

Unfortunately, she's virtually unemployable due to a lack of skills and work experience. But she gets a few gigs. Her attempts at bartending are pathetic (especially when the blender cap comes off!). She fails miserably as a store P.I. but does well at being a phone psychic, except when her conscience interferes. Elle also has her share of man problems, including a juvenile delinquent she calls "Eddie Munster," a charming con man named Joshua, a redheaded lawyer named Merrick, a bill collector named Carlos and a thug named Dingle.

An often amusing and zany debut novel. (Jul., 288 pp., $12.95)
