Garlock's mastery as a storyteller shines through in this engrossing tale full of touching romance and an entertaining mystery. The rural Arkansas setting is the perfect backdrop for this moving, lyrical novel. The talented author has the ability to make readers feel as if they know the characters on a personal level.

Nona Conrad is a caretaker of cabins in Home, Arkansas, near a picturesque lake. When the owner of the cabins, Simon Wright, arrives in Home, he and Nona seem constantly at odds. But when Nona's teenage sister Maggie goes missing, presumably kidnapped by their brother's shady business associates, Simon is Nona's stalwart supporter. As Nona and Simon become closer emotionally and physically, they must learn to trust one another with their deepest secrets. Can their newfound love survive when their very lives are threatened?
