TAMING THE DEMON (4.5) by Doranna Durgin: After Devin James stops Natalie Chambers’ would-be attackers late one night in a questionable section of Albuquerque, her boss hires him to protect Natalie until they can find out who ordered the attack. But it was actually Natalie’s boss, Sawyer Compton, who instigated the attack, hoping to kill Devin in the process so he could control the demon blade that possesses Devin, giving him powers and driving him to kill — whether for good or evil depends on Devin. The emotional backstory, creative mythology, nonstop action and serious heat between the two main characters make Durgin’s latest a fun, exciting read from start to finish.
