As the incomparable Singh’s Psy-Changeling world continues to expand, so do her novels. While there is a core romance at the heart of the story, the wide scope of the book treats readers to further exploration of the lives of previous protagonists. The fact that this multifaceted world is on the brink of war supplies the story with enormous tension as the threat of an apocalypse looms. It doesn’t get any better than this!

After the deadly confrontation with Henry Scott’s Pure Psy Forces caused Sienna to unleash her X-Psy powers, both sides have been regrouping. Concern over attempts to damage or co-opt the PsyNet are engendering some unusual allies. SnowDancer lieutenant Riaz has returned to base from Europe, sad with the knowledge his “mate” is happily married to another man. Adria Morgan has also returned home, following a disastrous relationship. Although sexual sparks fly between these two powerful individuals, is a permanent relationship doomed due to lack of a mating bond? Their hearts have been shattered before, dare these two soldiers risk anew? (BERKLEY SENSATION, Jun., 432 pp., $25.95)

Tangle of Need

Submitted by hcabm on June 1, 2012 - 5:32am.

The story, Tangle of Need covers a lot of territory but it is primarily about the developing relationship between Riaz a Snow Dancer lieutenant and Adria a senior soldier in the same pack.

Theirs is a complicated relationship because each has been let down by love and not ready for the intense attraction they have for each other. Adria has broken up with Martin who was a less dominant male who was undermining her self confidence and Riaz has met his mate who is happily married to another man. The question this story asks is what really constitutes love? These two fight, claw, have lusty sex and sometimes quietly contemplate the answer.

In the background we have power plays of some of the councilors, and the pure Psy zealots. We are also looking at the imminent collapse of the Psy net. This story has you on the edge of your seat.

The story is well crafted and a brilliantly written. Tangle of Need really brings home the point that you should live for today because tomorrow is not guaranteed.
