This action-packed, suspenseful military story has two romances, and the secondary one is just as good as the main one. But anxiety and frequent musings over a failing marriage, though understandable, become irritating.

On the way to deliver divorce papers to his wife, Sergeant Shane O'Riley discovers that a terrorist group is setting up a camp on a island near the one where she's working as a teacher. Determined
to protect Sherry and her two daughters, Shane is with them when the terrorists attack. With the help of his friend, Derek, and Sherry's friend, Keisha, they are safely transported home to the United States.

Shane still feels he must stay close to his family, however, not knowing that the terrorists are closer than anyone believed possible and that his family may be one of their targets. (HQN, Jul., 384 pp., $6.99)
