TARNISHED AND TORN
Blackwell has another winner with the fifth installment of her Witchcraft Mysteries. Lily Ivory and the gang are back, trying to figure out the mystery that is thrown at them. This time there is a demon on the loose, and it is up to Lily to stop it. This story is a great entry in a really great series.
Lily Ivory buys a box of junk jewelry from a fellow witch at a gem fair for her vintage store, Aunt Cora’s Closet. When the fire alarms start ringing, and everyone runs for the exits, Lily notices that the witch has been “pressed,” a form of torture that was used during the witch trials. Lily meets an interesting man who teaches fire dancing. Somehow, this all adds up to a search for an ancient ring that is being sought by a demon, Lily and her estranged father. Will Lily and her crew find the ring or will they be singed by the fire? (OBSIDIAN, Jul., 336 pp., $7.99)
