Jordan’s latest is compelling and hot. However, Shaw’s pursuit of Emerson is unrealistic and doesn’t set the best example as to how a potential beau should behave. However, if readers keep the “fiction” aspect in mind, this well-written romance makes a great beach read.

Emerson has a carefully cultivated reputation as a good-time party girl — easy, flirty and always in control. She’s never had trouble finding a guy to go home with, and she always leaves them begging for more. After all, they never really get to know her — not even her best friends do. When a fun night out turns into her worst nightmare, the handsome, mysterious and alluring Shaw comes to her rescue. Terrified by how out of control he makes her feel, she pushes him away. But Shaw is determined to get to know the real Emerson. Can these two stub- born and secretive people learn to trust each other and face their horrific pasts?
