Davies writes three interconnected short stories in this fun, enjoyable anthology. Her strong yet vulnerable heroines are realistic and likable, while her male leads are drawn straight from a woman's fantasy.

In "Taking the Cake," Mollie decides to surprise her fiance by jumping out of his bachelor party cake. But she's the one who is surprised when she learns he's been cheating on her. She throws herself into a steamy affair with Cade in an effort to put her ex behind her.

Vice cop Tony works undercover as a stripper in "Strip Tease." When Caroline needs a stripper for her friend's bachelor party, Tony mistakes her intentions and arrests her for solicitation. But despite their rocky beginning, they both feel a strong attraction to each other.

An inter-office friendship smolders in "Challenging Carter." At first embarrassed to find out the step class she signed up for is actually a strip aerobics class, Dani soon discovers her inner seductress. Carter is drawn to Dani's confidence, but worries that their friendship might be damaged if they take things too far. (SAMHAIN, Aug., 248 pp., $14.00)
