Book Review

TEEN IDOL
by Meg Cabot

Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary Young Adult

RT Rating

Teen queen Cabot is at it again with this thrilling, lighthearted summer read, which focuses on a small Indiana town and a big-time Hollywood heartthrob—and what happens when the
two collide.

Everybody in Clayton, Indiana, loves kind-hearted Jenny Greenley. High school
is as great as it can be (social torments included), until Luke Striker, Hollywood's hottest teen star, decides to spend a couple of weeks attending school like a regular Midwestern kid, albeit incognito, to research his next movie role.

Jen gets the "honor" of showing him around school and keeping his identity secret. By the time the Spring Fling comes around, everyone you thought was a solid couple may not last through the dance, and you'll never guess who leaves with Luke.

This is classic Cabot—light and fun yet with a relevant message. She creates another perfectly imperfect, lovable character in Jen. (Jul., 304 pp., $15.99)
