TEMPERATURES RISING (4.5) by Brenda Jackson: Sherri Griffin plans to take over her uncle's radio station in Key West. Everyone reports to her except Terrence Jefferies, a former NFL player and host of one of the station's most popular shows. Terrence is accustomed to women falling all over him, not turning him down for dinner, lunch or anything else, until he meets Sherri, who wants more than a physical relationship. But as the couple gets to know one another -- in a way that only Jackson can portray -- they find that a deeper attraction, and being trapped at the radio station during a hurricane, seals their future. Readers will learn quite a bit about the characters, but not so much that it's overwhelming. Secondary characters are screaming to have their stories told.
