Black, aka Shelley Bradley, vaults into the supernatural with her take on magic and immortality in the Doomsday Brethren series. Combining an extremely untrusting hero with a heroine who knows nothing of her heritage allows Black to slowly reveal worldbuilding details. With a host of hunky heroes in waiting, there are plenty of stories to be mined. Kudos!

After a tryst gone bad with legendary witch Morganna le Fay, Marrok of Cadbury was cursed with immortality coupled with sexual unfulfillment. Morganna used the Doomsday diary to invoke the curse, and although Marrok was able to steal the book, he hasn't been able to break the curse.

Fifteen hundred years later, Marrok encounters Olivia Gray, an untransitioned witch of the le Fay bloodline. Marrok and Olivia accidentally become mate bonded, and she agrees to help him try and break the curse. Their timing is off, however, for they are suddenly thrust into the middle of magical war. Marrok doesn't trust wizards, but he may have no choice but to join forces with the Doomsday Brethren.
