Just when new Pythia Cassie Palmer thinks her life can’t get more screwed up, fate kicks her in the teeth. Cassie is the ultimate poster child for heroines having to learn to roll with the punches and stay on their feet. Per usual, you can count on the awesome Chance delivering a story that hits the ground running and never looks back. For maximum enjoyment, the twists and turns in this series really require that readers start from the beginning, but it is well worth the effort. This is one remarkable ride!

Cassie has taken a couple of hits recently: She’s learned that she is the daughter of a goddess and has had war mage John Pritkin sacrifice himself to save her. To rescue Pritkin from the hell world where he is trapped, Cassie decides to use her power to shift through time, in an attempt to reach her mother, Artemis. Cassie hopes her goddess mother can tell her if any of Cassie’s untested half-goddess powers can help. With master vampire Mircea out of town, Cassie must rely on herself (and some reluctant allies) to find a way into hell. Of course, well-laid plans and Cassie are a combustible mix!
