Roberts’ debut novel will charm fans of Scottish romance. Her love of Scottish history and Highland heroes is quite evident in the fast-moving plot. Well written, full of intrigue and a sensual, believable romance, this book captivates the reader immediately. Definitely an author whose next book will be eagerly awaited by her readers.

When her abusive parents agree to trade her to an English lord in exchange for a great deal of money, Lady Rosalia Armstrong flees her home on the English and Scottish border — attempting to reach her grandmother in the northern Highlands. Laird Ciaran MacGregor is returning from court when he finds a valuable horse and an unconscious lad. He soon discovers the lad is a woman. Rosalia explains the reason for disguise and convinces Ciaran to escort her to Glengarry. They develop deep respect for each other and strong feelings. Ciaran comes to realize that, because of his duty as laird to protect his clan, he wasn’t aware of how much he cherishes Rosalia. He must show her the depth of his love.
