go too far, such as when Nick defies Slany's wishes by refusing to wear a

Nick and Slany are competing ad executives thrown together on a project. Each claims to despise the other, but the electricity between them is palpable. When Nick offers to be the dominant to the submissive Slany, she surrenders to him, letting down the fierce mask she wears at the office. But Slany has captured the attention of another man, a sexual predator who is jealous of her affair with Nick. (SIREN, Dec. '06, 302 pp., $14.99)
