Wyatt returns to his hometown to make amends for his youthful, trouble-making ways in A Texan Returns (4), by Victoria Chancellor. As he navigates the small-town politics that caused him to rebel years ago, he's drawn to his high school love, Toni. But matters are complicated by Toni's new job as mayor, plus she's still hurting from Wyatt's disappearance. Chancellor delights with this return to Brody's Crossing and Wyatt's fun-loving nature. Toni sometimes comes across as stiff rather than cautious, but the overall effect is a nicely satisfying story about a boy learning to be a man and a woman remembering how to be a girl.
