THE TEXAN'S BRIDE
THE TEXAN’S BRIDE (4.5) by Linda Warren: Forced to marry his former boss’s daughter, Jessie Murdock, in order to inherit a portion of Roscoe Murdock’s company when he dies, Cadde Hardin is shocked when -- after months of a cold war with his wife -- Jessie suddenly tells him she’ll sign over controlling interest in the company if she and Cadde have a baby together. Cadde agrees, and the two soon realize that months of ignoring each other only allowed them to hide the attraction they feel for each other. Both characters possess complex personalities, charming and flawed and true to life. Warren’s story reads like silk and the plot has real depth.
