TEXAS BRIDE

Author(s):

Texas Ranger Jonah Danhill is relaxing in the tub when a woman enters his room, claiming she's being pursued by thugs. Jonah doesn't quite believe Maddie Garret needs him to escort her home with the ransom for her kidnapped sister, but he helps her anyway.

Maddie won't let anything stop her from rescuing her sister. Hiring the half-Comanche ranger as her escort is just part of her plan, until she falls in love.

Jonah finds himself caught between a rock and a hard place. Maddie is a wealthy heiress, not the woman for him, but he can't stop dreaming of making her his own.

As they evade the men sent after her, gain a sidekick in tracker Kiowa Boone and pretend to be married for Maddie's safety, the desire builds as quickly as the action. Even when they get to Maddie's canyon home and free her sister, the troubles don't stop.

Finch delivers another well-paced western with likable, realistic characters, a well-crafted backdrop and just enough history and sexual tension to satisfy western and romance readers. SENSUAL (Jul., 300 pp., $5.50)
