A TEXAS FAMILY
A TEXAS FAMILY (4) by Linda Warren: Back in Willow Creek, Texas, to find out what happened to the baby Asa Corbett stole from her nine years earlier, legal assistant Jena Brooks confronts constable Carson Corbett with his father’s sins. Jena claimed she was pregnant with his brother’s child, so Carson always assumed she’d run away with the child after her father killed his brother. He is at first shocked and skeptical over her story. But after confronting his ill father, Carson realizes that Jena is telling the truth. Together they try to piece together the story, and their digging uncovers more secrets than either had believed possible. Warren constructs a complicated yet credible tale in spite of the slightly outlandish basis for the story.
