On her first day of work as a private investigator, Alexandra Buford finds her adopted cousin David grilling her new boss. David's overprotective nature apparently allows for such unprofessional behavior. Amazingly, David turns out to be the long-lost brother of Alex's new colleague, Jim Barlow. The characters in A Texas Family Reunion (1) seem straight out of a previous century, with their slavish adherence to stereotypical gender roles. Judy Christenberry attempts to perk up the tired plot with a shot of intrigue, but the real mystery is why Alex would ever fall for David.
