TEXAS RANGER, RUNAWAY HEIRESS
by Carol Finch

Genre: Historical Romance, Western, America
Sensuality: HOT
Setting: 1870s Texas

RT Rating

Finch offers another heartwarming western romance full of suspense, humor and strong characters. It's fun to watch the feisty heroine bring the macho Texas Ranger to his knees as she leaps from one scrape right into another. The plot is reminiscent of other Finch westerns, and the language is a tad stilted at times, but the suspense is carried through to the end of the story, and it's hard to put this one down.

Captain Hudson Stone is anxious to avenge the death of his childhood friend and fellow Texas Ranger when he's ordered to escort the daughter of his commanding officer to the Ranger camp.

Hud expects to find a spoiled, high-society brat, but instead Gabrielle is a strong, independent female who knows how to take care of herself -- and seeks to prove it at every opportunity. When Gabrielle is supposedly kidnapped by the very outlaw Hud is seeking, Hud vows to find her before she too ends up dead ... or worse. (Harlequin, Jan., 314 pp., $5.99)
