Though she was born into money and is engaged to her high school sweetheart, socialite Delaney Cartwright feels that something is missing from her life. When she comes across a veil said to be imbued with the magic of an old Irish legend, she gets a glimpse of her future that confirms her reservations about her upcoming marriage.

To please everyone, she decides to try to spice up her love life by kidnapping her fiance and seducing him, but when she goes through with it, it's not her fiance she sneaks up on -- it's the man revealed by the veil, Detective Nick Vinetti. Drawn together by fate, they discover the magic within them -- if they'll only give in to their desires. (WARNER FOREVER, Mar., 384 pp., $6.99).
