Image of Thieves Like Us (Pocket Books Romance)

Ambrose has the great ability to create snappy, spunky characters that are easy to relate to and root for. Her latest novel is yet another demonstration of her ability to blend lighthearted romance with a suspense theme. However, while the plot and characters are compelling, the dialogue feels a little flat — particularly for such dynamic characters. All in all, this is a good read.

Janet Aims is divorced from her criminal husband and finally getting her life back on track. The last thing she needs is a hot new romance with sexy ex-con Rocky Hernandez. But when she’s accused of being a jewel thief, she needs Rocky’s expert skills to help her uncover the truth. With gangsters and jewel thieves on their tail, steamy romance and gripping action are inevitable. Rocky has had his eye on Janet forever and knows she’s the one for him. He’s just waiting for her to recover from her divorce and open herself up to love again. When she hocks her wedding ring and a necklace, she learns she’s been in possession of the stolen Pellinni jewels. Now the cops want to know how she got them, jewel thieves want the rest of the collection and gangsters are after her as well. It’s Rocky’s perfect chance to win her heart.
