Claire Willoughby and her best friend Olive Tully have created a lifestyle empire with their Simple Pleasures TV show. Claire is the on-air lifestyle diva, but Olive is the behind-the-scenes creative force that holds it all together. Both their lives are changed when Claire's No. 1 fan dies and bequeaths her baby daughter, Anabel, to Claire.

Claire sends investigators to find Anabel's only surviving relative, an uncle named Ramsey Sage. When he's caught in a bar fight, there are definite concerns about his suitability as a guardian.

When handsome child services worker Davis Webster arrives with Anabel, Claire, Ramsey and Olive all learn that they need to pass muster if any of them are to be granted custody. Talk about your opposite ends of the spectrum: Claire and Ramsey seem to have nothing in common—except for a combustible attraction.

With her usual panache, Bevarly dishes another warmhearted, sexy and funny romance. (Jan., 384 pp., $6.99)
