This Witch Hunt novel has elements of a police procedural, with a paranormal mystery that keeps the pace moving; the reader always interested in what will happen next. You’ll be fascinated by Viguié’s former witch, who chose to be Christian as she goes undercover in the witch community where she was raised.

Boston policewoman Samantha Ryan is tagged to investigate homicides with an eerie occult angle. Raised in a community of coldblooded witchcraft practioners and last in a line of witches seduced by power, Samantha is uniquely qualified to understand the suspects, and to go undercover to catch them. Against her better judgment she returns to her hometown to face her past and its evil history, with only her faith beside her. (SIGNET, Apr., 368 pp., $7.99)
