The action starts early as Marcy gets involved in a volatile domestic situation. Many elements contribute to the overall charm of this series, including the details of Marcy’s life as a craft shop owner, the residents of Tallulah Falls and the ever-evolving nature of Marcy’s relationships with Ted and Todd. This is a great series with enough suspense and smart sleuthing to hook readers every time.

Embroidery shop owner Marcy Singer agrees to hold an embroidery class at the local library for domestic abuse victims. There she meets Mary Cantor and her daughter Melanie. Mary’s husband Adam has an explosive temper, but Mary won’t leave because she fears she will be leaving her father-in-law in harm’s way. The elderly man claims to have an old tapestry that leads to sunken treasure off the Oregon coast. He believes finding the treasure will solve the family’s problems. After entrusting the tapestry to Marcy, he is murdered. Who else knew about the tapestry? Can Marcy solve the crime and help the Cantors before it’s too late? (OBSIDIAN, Dec., 368 pp., $7.99)
