This is an exciting read that places Deborah Knott in situations and circumstances we don’t normally get to see. The strongest aspect of the Knott series is Deborah herself, who with every book shows strength of character and evokes admiration for her actions and behavior. As always the relationship between Deborah and Dwight is multidimensional and a joy to read. It is also interesting to see how seamlessly Maron integrates Sigrid Harald from her other series into this book. Three Day Town is a spectacular addition to this long-running series.

Although Deborah Knott and Dwight Bryant were married a year ago, they haven’t had time for a honeymoon until now, and are in New York City courtesy of Dwight’s sister-in-law. Although it is a vacation, Deborah has been asked to deliver a package, but things never go as planned and next thing she knows, she is embroiled in a murder case. Deborah and Dwight team up with Lt. Harald to solve the case quickly and hopefully grab some alone time. (GRAND CENTRAL, Nov., 288 pp., $25.99)
