What starts out as a simple case never stays that way for Bounty Hunter Stephanie Plum. Beloved local ice cream store owner Mo Bedemier has skipped out on his bail for a concealed weapons charge. Stephanie quickly discovers that tracking down Uncle Mo makes her one of the most unpopular people in town. Things get really complicated when Stephanie is knocked unconscious in Mo's store and wakes up next to a dead body. Now the police look at Stephanie as their prime suspect and the detective in charge is none other than her old flame/nemesis, Joe Morelli.

What is Uncle Mo involved in? Stephanie's overly enthusiastic new assistant, Lulu, insists that there is more to Uncle Mo than the general populace realizes. The plot thickens when drug dealers are murdered and Stephanie is threatened by a "concerned citizens" group.

Janet Evanovich brings forth the latest wickedly entertaining chapter in the continuing saga of Bounty Hunter Stephanie Plum. Hang on to your seats for another wacky and wild roller coaster ride! (June, 352pp., $6.99)
