Book Review

THROUGH THE NIGHT
by Janelle Denison

Genre: Romantic Suspense, General Romantic Suspense
Sensuality: HOT

RT Rating

This book starts out with a sizzling romance, which sets the tone for the story to follow. Unfortunately there’s a lot more going on in the plot than a sex romp, but the rather two-dimensional characters seem more interested in getting back into bed than the job at hand, and Denison throws over the opportunity to build on the plot in favor of another romantic scene. Fans of romance novels with some sass will enjoy this latest novel in the Reliance Group series, while readers who are looking for something a little more substantial in their books may be disappointed.

Valerie Downing, executive hostess for the Onyx Hotel in Las Vegas, must always keep an eye out for the big spenders. This night, she’s in luck as a sexy winner, Chase Pierson, draws plenty of attention. Her goal is to make sure he stays in the hotel and spends as much money as possible. His goal is to enjoy whatever perks Valerie may be offering him.

Turns out both Valerie and Chase are on the same top-secret mission for the Reliance Group. And Valerie is a professional, and refuses to spend any time fraternizing with hotel clientele, even if he is a hard-bodied charmer like Chase. But Chase is patient, knowing the harder the hunt, the more exciting the surrender will be. (ST. MARTIN’S, Mar., 336 pp., $7.99)
