Coble’s mystery is intriguing and an ideal backdrop for the development of a romance. The plot moves briskly forward, providing an action-packed story along with wonderful development of the characters.
Libby discovers that her father, who she had been told abandoned her and then died when she was young, has just recently passed away. He has bequeathed to her the deed to an inn on a small island in the Outer Banks, which appeals to Libby’s preservation and renovation background. Just when she discovers she has two half-siblings, her business partner Nicole disappears — and Libby is under suspicion for the crime. She meets Alec Bourne, a Coast Guard lieutenant who wants to get to the bottom of the mystery, but also finds himself falling for Libby. Can they find Nicole before it’s too late?
