RT Rating

A romance for all romance lovers, this novel eloquently combines time travel, vampirism and a bygone era into a compelling and original tale. Though fans of vampire stories may find the historical elements a bit tedious, Squires has created one of the most mysterious and appealing vampires since Lestat.

Frankie Suchet is a vampire, a disgruntled one, who blames her maker for her cursed existence. Taking advantage of a time machine, she goes back in time with the intent to kill her maker, Henri Foucault. Frankie unexpectedly blends with her 1974 self, Francoise, and loses her memories. Despite the niggling fear and sense of purpose, Francoise is falling in love, once again, with Henri. (ST. MARTIN'S, Sep., 384 pp., $6.99)
