TIME RAIDERS: THE PROTECTOR (3) by Merline Lovelace: Air Force Lt. Cassandra Jones and Major Max Brody are sent back to seventh-century China, to the court of the Tang dynasty, to bring back another piece of the Karanovo stamp, an alien stamp that, once assembled, will allow Earth to take its place among other worlds. Max's initial suspicions of Cassie in the accidental death of a friend soon give way when the two are pitted against a Centaurian, an alien race out to prevent Earth from gaining possession of the stamp, and Cassie's ability to sense weather changes becomes pivotal to their survival. Although well written, Lovelace's installment in the Time Raiders series feels a bit rushed. The plot moves too quickly and is resolved with almost no conflict with the Centaurian.
